John Z. Ding, P.E.
President

As the President and founder of DMY Inc., Mr. Ding has more than twenty years' experience in geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, site civil engineering, construction management, construction engineering Inspection (CEI), and engineering laboratory management.

Mr. Ding's experiences on geotechnical engineering cover a broad area on shallow and deep foundations, retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, support of excavation design, tunnel constructions, soil modification and stabilization, groundwater issues, geotechnical instrumentation, and pavement design.

Mr. Ding has also extensive experience on Construction Engineering Inspections (CEI), Special Inspections (IBC Chapter 17), and existing pavement inspections. He has developed a special inspection device for drilled shaft inspection, which was granted a patent by USPTO.


Richard Simon

Richard M. Simon, P.E., Ph.D.

Dr. Simon started his profound career as a professional engineer after receiving his bachelor's degree from Cornell University and Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. With over 30 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, Dr. Simon has completed geotechnical engineering design services on hundreds of transportation and building projects supported on a variety of shallow and deep foundations. His expertise includes precast concrete piles, mini-piles, drilled piers, pressure-injected footings (PIF's), steel H-piles and timber piles, design and installation of deep foundations adjacent to critical structures, and design of structures to resist earthquake induced forces and displacements and soil liquefaction. Dr. Simon also has specific expertise and experience in stage preloading of embankments and foundations to control settlements and stability.
