Senior Geotechnical Engineer

DMY is seeking a professional Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager for our Richmond area. This individual will serve as project manager for all aspects of geotechnical exploration and design for projects with a special focus on transportation and municipal projects. Responsibilities will include coordination of geotechnical field and laboratory testing, performance and review of geotechnical engineering analyses, and preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and design documents.  Additional responsibilities will include client management, technical QA of reports/documents, and business development. The candidates should have BS in Civil Engineering required, MS in geotechnical engineering preferred; Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia; A minimum of 5 years of geotechnical engineering work experience. Strong verbal, writing and communication skills are preferred.

Construction Inspector

DMY is seeking an experienced, Transportation Technician for projects in Richmond and central Virginia. The technical duties include construction inspection for transportation and municipal related projects, for conformance with plans, specifications and other contract documents.  Other duties include inspection and documentation of the contractor's operations to include clearing and grubbing, erosion control, earthmoving, paving, concrete placement, bridge construction, pipe installation, traffic control, pavement markings, and perform materials sampling and field testing at specified frequencies for compliance with the owner's quality assurance program.  The inspector prepares materials reports and daily diaries and performs a variety of calculations, computations, and documentation associated with project inspection and material testing.  The candidates should have high school diploma/GED and 2+ years of highway related construction or inspection experience required; one or more VDOT certifications preferred in the following aspects: Nuclear Gauge, Earthwork, Foundations, and Asphalt Roadway and Portland Cement Concrete.
